Shop Walton First is an initiative started by the Walton County Chamber of Commerce to bring awareness to the importance and impact of spending money locally. First and foremost, local spending helps keep local businesses open. Second, local spending generates tax dollars for our City and County Governments. 

In these difficult economic times it is more important than ever to Think Local. The more of our shopping that we can do locally, meaning within our City, County, State and Country, the better our economy will be. Most of us want to be able to find everything we need; gas, groceries, gifts, services, etc.; locally. If we want these things available we must support the
businesses that are nearby. Every dollar spent locally helps our local economy as well as creates tax dollars that enable our government to fund the services that we need.
